Managing Money.

Personal finances can be a tough task to manage for a lot of people and especially a young adult. The interesting aspect about managing money is that everyone has their own method and everyone has their own situation. Some people may not have to worry about money and others may have to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. Ultimately, at some point in someones life, they’ll take part in managing some sort of finances.

So, I thought I would share with everyone my method. & it is super simple.

First thing is first: Add up your bills for the month and divide by the number of times you’ll get an income (paycheck). Work towards that goal and do NOT touch it (until the bill needs to be paid) & any thing extra, simply put aside for the next step. I will also include spending money for birthdays or an upcoming vacation in the ‘bills’ category.

The equation:

$350 (bills) / 2 (pay days) = $175

Second: I basically give myself a day-to-day allowance. Based off of the money I currently have and divide by the amount number of days it takes until I get some sort of income (paycheck) and that gives me the spending per day allowance. What I love about this, some days I wont need to buy anything and some days I may need an item or two. If I don’t spend money for a day or two then I get a little bit more of an allowance for the next couple of days.

*Side note: I also make logical decisions on my purchases. Anyone who knows me can contest to the fact that I love fashion. I am the type of person to want a new outfit each holiday and occasion.
Some advice to share, you can’t take it with you when your gone.
I make compromises here and there.

The equation:

$200($) / 6 (days) = $33.3 (allowance)

Hope this helps someone out!

Until next time,
