Search engine results page, or SERP, are the results of a keyword(s) ranking position(s), Search engine optimization (SEO) practitioners strive to have their accounts keywords rank high on a results page. The higher the rank the more publicity the site receives which results into increase of business opportunities.
Not every account is ‘perfect‘ and ranks well with below average attention being spent on the account. Some words and sites need a boost to land a better position on results page. Well, I may have a bit of a tip to pass along. One that I learned while listening to a webinar hosted by BrightLocal. I encourage you to check them out if you aren’t aware of them already.
If you are looking to improve a keyword, always take a moment to reflect back on what tasks have been completed and take a rating of each task. This would include visiting the content, backlinks and meta description. From there, check out the listing on Google. Make sure it’s 100% optimized. While updating the listing, take a look at the primary category of the listing. Consider changing the primary category to draw more attention to a keyword that could use a boost. From experience, I noticed an improvement to the ranking of the keyword.
My disclaimer: don’t just rely on changing the primary category on Google. There are more strategies that can increase a keywords ranking position. The key is to pay close attention and monitor the objective to see how there can be overall improvement…& it always helps to have an extra SEO tip!
If you happen to use this strategy, I’d love to know!
Until next time,
